I never expected to see Safari for Windows. I did download the beta and gave it a go, but I must say that I don’t like the font smoothing feature (well, on my PC anyway), I’d like to turn it off but there is no way to do so. Oh, and I haven’t noticed any speed differences, so I’ll probably give this a miss for now. Besides, I like Firefox, and it works fine for me.

Hi Chris, definetly safari is no way near to be used as primary browser. I have read abt those font issues as well all over the web yesterday. I guess the reason they released safari for windows was to allow developers to write web applications for iphone.

But I am having so many problems with firefox on vista and I am not completley satisfied with IE and FF yet.

I’ve never been a fan of Safari. I used it on my old boss’s Mac Mini, but then even the fonts looked pretty crappy.

I never had any problems when I was running Firefox on my mum’s laptop with Vista Basic, even when I was running the Vista Beta it was all fine and dandy.

I just downloaded safari on my vista, but can’t make it run good. When I click on bookmarks or tabs it crash. Also when open yahoo, I can only see icons on the left yahoo sidebar, and also many text seem to be missing on the site.
do other have the same problem ?

I have a feeling that when Apple did its speed test for IE and FF it was on XP or less, Not the new IPv6 based Vista. Compaired to anything else I’ve used IE and FF on Vista is amazing. Safari can’t even Install? good luck getting a food in the business world. I think I’ll keep my Apples where they belong, in the bottom of the Fridge.
